Greymouth Fishing Club Inc 1ST Catch Challenge

2011-2012

RULES: 

  • Financial members only can claim an envelope.
  • First person to contact the President or Secretary/Treasurer to say they have caught one of the fish species listed below claims the envelope.
  • A catch form must be handed into the committee with weight, date etc (photo if possible).
  • Only 1 envelope per season per species is up for grabs.

1kg Kahawai Challenge

 

Financial members only

Where: Grey River

Date –Time: (Sunday) TBA

Entry fee: $5.00 per spool (1 spool per person)

Cash prize for heaviest Kahawai (Senior)

Voucher for heaviest Kahawai (Junior)

 

Members will need to come to the club rooms on the Saturday afternoon before the competition with their empty spool and to pay the entry fee.

 

The reel will need to be empty with nothing on it at all , we will give you a measured length of 100 metres of 1kg nylon, NO leaders, NO backing.

 GREYMOUTH FISHING CLUB INC TUNA MADNESS

 TWO CATEGORIES IN COMPETITION

 1.  HEAVIEST FISH CAUGHT BY AN INDIVIDUAL ANGLER

2.  TOTAL WEIGHT OF FISH CAUGHT BY A BOAT

TUNA TROLLING SPEED SHOULD BE ABOUT 5 - 6 KNOTS.

AS SAFETY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT BOATS SHOULD NOT VENTURE OUT ALONE.  ALSO REMEMBER WHEN GOING TO SEA IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CONTACT

MAX DOWELL AT HOKITIKA RADIO ON CHANNEL 63 INTERNATIONAL

RULES:

Only Tuna landed from 1st February to 31st March will be counted.

If possible weigh fish on digital scales.

Catch form to be filled out (and witnessed wherever possible)

Members only go into competition for heaviest tuna in each class although non-members fishing on your boat will go to your boat total.

All catch forms to be handed in by Saturday 10th April winners will be announced at club meeting on Monday 12th April.

This is an honesty based system please obey the rules; contact Andrew Bone for a copy of the rules and the catch form used for this competition.

Tuna must be caught on a rod & Reel.

TROPHY FOR HEAVIEST SALMON

CATEGORIES

Men - Woman - Junior Female - Junior Male.

RULES:

  • Greymouth Fishing Club members only may enter the competition
  • Junior must be under 17 years old at the closing date of the competition.
  • Only Salmon caught from 1st February to 31st March will be counted.
  • Fish to be weighed (if possible) on digital scales.
  • Catch forms to be filled out (and witnessed wherever possible).

 All catch forms to be handed in by Saturday 10th April winners will be announced at club meeting on Monday 12th April.

SEASONAL CHALLENGE (TROUT)

The club holds a seasonal challenge competition for club members on the first Sunday after opening day (conditions permitting)
Entry Fee:
$2.00 entry seniors
Children free
Categories:
Trophy for Senior: heaviest weight
Trophy for Junior: heaviest weight
Start Daylight
Weigh-in clubrooms by 3.30pm
BBQ to follow
Children must be under 17 on the day of competition
All fish must be gutted and gilled before weighed in
Don’t forget that you will require a fishing licence to enter this competition,
yearly and 24 hour licences are available.
