About The Greymouth Fishing Club Inc
The Greymouth fishing Club was formed on 26th September 2005 after a public meeting of interested people was held at the Union Hotel Greymouth the club merged with the Grey District Angling club, which had been in recess for a few years. The club became incorporated in September 2006.
The club holds a King Kahawai competition on the Grey River in February each year and holds several hook-A Herring days for the children on the Greymouth Wharf. The club also holds several in club competitions including an Albacore Tuna competition and a Salmon competition.
The AGM is held each September and includes the presentation of club trophies.
The clubrooms are in Gresson Street Greymouth (next to the Harbour Board office) meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7.30pm new members are welcome to come along. The clubrooms are also open most Friday Nights from 5.00 pm & Saturday afternoons from 3.00pm for members and friends to gather for a chat.
