The date is set for the 19th of February with an alternative date of the 26th of February if the weather or river condition prevent it going ahead

Finally! A day off work

Al and Tim dipped the paddles down Haast way on saturday and did alright by all accounts.

As the finer details have been clouded behind a smoke screen of secrecy I have had to obtain evidence by myself

and the help of anonymous photographer of Mr Blairs catch.

Greymouth Fishing Club in Pohara, By Alyssa Blacktopp

On Saturday Me, Mitchell, Jon and Dad went fishing on Jim and Sheryls boat. We had to get up early. We went to the boat ramp and launched the boat. And then we went out to sea, then we stopped and put our lines down. Then I felt bites next it started pulling then I reeled it up and it was Snapper! Then I caught another snapper, next Jon caught a gurnard. There wasn’t much fish here so we went out further next we found a big shoal. Whenever we put our rods down we caught a fish. Then we had to put our rods down again. Before we went back we had to count all the fish. I caught the biggest which was 42cm and Jim caught a seagull.

Nice catch Tim

A fine catch dragged up from the depths on the recent club trip to Westport, The wind and chop took a bit of the shine off the day but a very enjoyable day was had by all, A few Crays are heading for the pot and a couple of Blue cod were caught, along with a good assortment of the less desireable species. Congrats to TaS for taking the Top Boat flag for the largest Blue Cod.
